rain, rain, rain come again today!

last night i looked at rain the different way.
i am not really a fan of rainy season, for i hate getting wet, soiling my not so good looking feet and the pile of laundry after.

as I've mentioned on my previous blog we don't have water in our house since last Wednesday (its the 3rd day now). the pump had a problem and needs to be repaired. i was so pissed off with the sight of our soiled clothes and dirty dishes. :( our house was a mess.

then adding to my distress it rained really hard last night...at first i was so lazy and just kept on browsing the net and playing games on FB.
i remembered that i still have a sweetened avocado in our refrigerator so i decided to have a bite...when i looked outside the window...water is dripping so fast from our rooftop. so i took our plastic pails and basin and brought it outside. i also took advantage of our neighbors roof drainage. :)
my husband came home from a basketball game and was so glad to saw what i did. he then helped me fill up all our containers...since we don't have lots of it. we decided to feel up the washing machine for us to have enough water the next morning.


i was more than glad that i did that for i was able to wash our dishes, cleaned and mopped our floor and was able to take a bath in a cool and clean water...so refreshing. it seems that i was just having shower in our house in Leyte. (our water in Leyte is so cool since our source comes from the water reservoir in the mountains).

my husband also was able to clean himself up from the sweaty game he had.
and i am glad that my sister who reports to work very early the following day will have water to use.

then i discovered something. rain water is good for the skin for the soap will work very well with it. and i noticed that our glasses are so clear and smooth after it was washed from rainwater. unlike the usual water that we are using in our house which leaves white marks and salt in our dishes which is not a good sight to look.

now i will look at rainy season the different way. i learned how to value water and how to use it wisely. i just hope that those in Manila will use the rain as much as i did. As we all know Manila is experiencing water shortage these days. I am also aware that rainwater is not that good compared to what we have here in Cebu since Manila is more polluted and with lesser trees. But they can use rainwater in cleaning their houses, comfort rooms and even washing dishes.

they can also boil the water for their personal need such as bathing and cleaning themselves up. I do hope that they will not look at rainy days as a bad day but as an opportunity to save and save water.

by the way, just a precaution, don't store rainwater for so long since dengue causing mosquitoes love to nest on it. we should also be vigilant, you can cover your barrels to keep the mosquitoes from breeding on it. (source: rainwater tanks a dengue risk)

i benefited from rainwater so much...

if it will rain again tonight trust me...i will be there to catch and harvest rainwater.

my baby is asleep now...and i have loads of things to do...that involves the use of water obviously... :)

i have done nothing today which made me feel lazy, useless and DIRTY...

makes me hate that gayzilla ( i don't hate gays! just this particular person...Fact: she's just a gay icon).
with that innocent mistake..she already made a comment to all the CEBUANOS... generalizing US (bisaya's) of getting the same mistake of mispronouncing English words...
how dare this person tells us that...when infact Cebuanos or Bisaya Speakers are better English speaker than tagalogs...
they also can speak english fluently even though they have not finished college or even high school...
;) infact Manila based call center imports employees from the Visayas and Mindanao region for their Manila offices for they believe that Cebuanos are better speakers than TAGALOGS...

was a bit worried with the delivery at first coz i dunno how to do it since i am alone with my baby. good thing that my sisters Pink and Blue of itravel, i explore decided to look after him. :D

i would just like to congratulate MARIBAGO BLUEWATER BEACH RESORT for their 21st anniversary. was a bit sad that i am not a part of it anymore..miss workin there. :)

will be going to the Cebu Goes Culinary 2010 in Waterfront Lahug... :)with my hubby of course... :D exciting.

Basyang Disaster

woke up this morning and checked on my tweetdeck. shocked to know that Typhoon Basyang had done damage in Manila.
Never thought that it could be that strong.

ohhh... i know how hard it is to be trapped in a raging storm...had experienced it so many times in Manila.

I'm in Cebu now...and i feel the people in Manila...hope all my friends there are ok...texted some of them and they said they're ok. they're just experiencing brownout, traffic and no internet signals.

4 days from now i'll be celebrating my 28th birthday. :)

zombie invasion

zombies are invading our house...and they ate our brains...

hahaha. funny but this is really awesome that my once hesitant husband is now addicted to Plants Vs. Zombies.

Plants Vs. Zombies is a virtual game created by POP CAP. 

its a game that you really would be addicted to. 

in this game you have to defeat a group of zombies who tried to get into your house and eat your brains. in order to get rid of them or kill them you have to plant vegies and other plants to guard your house from these disgusting zombies. :)

create your zen garden of plants to have more plants to guard your house. 

now, i can't use the computer anytime i want coz my husband is literally banging the computer just to beat the zombies.
