-- This is my Generation ---
TO ALL FOLKS WHO WERE BORN IN THE
1950's, 60' s, 70's and early 80's !!
First, some of us s urvived being born to mothers who did not have an OB-Gyne and drank San Miguel Beer while they carried us.
While pregnant, they took cold or cough medicine, a te Linunod, balikutsa, bukhayo and didn't worry about diabetes.
Then after all that trauma, our baby cribs were made of hard wood covered with lead-based paints, ang uban kay duyan nga habol gihigtan ug pisi nga inigtabyog ug kusog ma pakong intawon ta sa bongbong.
We had no soft cushy cribs that play music, no disposable diapers (lampin lang sa General Milling nga naa'y faded picture nga nag-salute), and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, no kneepads, wala pa gyu'y break ang bisikleta.
As children, we would ride in hot un-airconditioned buses with wooden seats (Bisaya Bus nga pultahan puros ang kilid, Corominas Bus nga senimana ang brake), or cars with no airconditioning & no seat belts (karon kay Minibus na nga nindot kaayo ug sounds or Ceres Bus nga bugnaw ug aircon)
Riding on the back of a carabao on a breezy summer day was considered a treat. (karon; ang mga bata wala na kaila ug Kabaw)
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT bottled mineral water sa Nature Spring or Viva, or Absolute Mineral water (usahay gani, straight from the faucet or poso or Tabay!)
We shared one soft drink bottle with four of our friends, and NO ONE actually died from this. Or contacted hepatitis.
We ate rice with star margarine, bahaw nga gibutangan ug asin ug mantika sa baboy, drank raw eggs straight from the shell, and drank sofdrinks with real sugar in it (dili diet coke or Pepsi Max), but we weren't sick or overweight kay......
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, and get back when the streetlights came on. Syatong, Bato-Lata, Bagol, Dakop-Dakop, Tago-Tago, Ngita'g Kaka.
No one was able to reach us all day ( wala pa'y uso ang cellphone) . And yes, we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our wooden trolleys (katong bearing ang ligid) or Karitong Kawayan nga karaang tsinilas ang giporma nga ligid and then ride down the street , wala ma'y gidungog nga naligsan atoh! After hitting the sidewalk or falling into a canal (sewage channel) a few times, we learned to solve the problem ourselves with our bare & dirty hands .
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 100 channels on cable, no DVD movies, no surround stereo, no IPOD's, no cell phones, no computers, no Internet, no chat rooms, and no Facebook. ........ ...WE HAD REAL FRIENDS and we went outside to actually talk and play with them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no stupid lawsuits from these accidents. The only rubbing we get is from our friends with the words..sakit bai ? pero kung kontra gani nimo ang imong kadula,,,,singgitan lang dayon ug..Mayra,Gabaan!
We played marbles (jolen) in the dirt , washed our hands just a little and ate Pan Bahug-bahug & Bagumbayan (recycled bread man diay to kay wala mahalin!) We were not afraid of getting germs in our stomachs.
We had to live with homemade guns (giporma nga kahoy, gihigtan ug garter ug lastiko) , saplong , tirador ug uban pa nga pwedeng magkasakitay. Pero lingaw gihapon kaayo ang tanan.
We made up games with sticks ( syatong ), and cans ( Bato-Lata )and although we were told they were dangerous, wala man gyud to'y actual nga nabuta bah, bukol lang nuon sa agtang naa.
We walked, rode bikes, or took tricycles to a friend's house and knocked on the door or batoon ug gagmay nga bato ang bungbong, or just yelled for them to jump out the window!
Mini basketball teams had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't pass had to learn to deal with the disappointment.
That generation of ours has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, creative thinkers and successful professionals ever! They are the CEO's, Engineers, Doctors and Military Generals of today.
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had failure, success, and responsibility. We learned from our mistakes the hard way.
You might want to share this with others who've had the luck to grow up as real kids. We were lucky indeed.
And if you like, forward it to your kids too, so they will know how brave their parents were.
It kind of makes you wanna go out and climb a tree, doesn't it?!

-circle of life-

The irony of life sometimes struck us when we are alone, lonely and terribly missing those people who made a great impact on our lives.
Bittersweet memories of our childhood, always fills us with opposing emotions: chills and delight.
I am talking about people, well extra special character of our lives. Those we grew up with, fought with, strangle with, cry with, laugh with and dreamt with…
Yes, our siblings.
I am going to tell a story about the 3 person that are so special to me…
I can’t imagine life without them.
My brother Sunday.
My one and only brother (though I have four others on my father’s first marriage). When we were young we were always fighting. He is my punching bag for he is so small. Seems so fragile for a boy…nope he don’t have an angelic face back then…that’s the reason why I choose him to be my punching bag. Ehhehe…
I’m a tomboy when I was younger…I always love to fight with boys…nah! Not of the same age group as mine but those younger than me.
I could remember once that I threw my brother under our sofa chair…and left him crying. Of course I was also beatenn up by my mother.
Sunday is such a sweet boy when he grew up. He started young on his spirituality…he was an altar boy at the age of 9 till he was on his early teens. You can’t see him in the computer shop or hanging with a gang for he will be at the church on his free time. He like what he is doing. He likes it when he is in the altar while other people are just below his eye level…worshipping God…while he is there directly serving Him. My lola Taking and Lola Viven was so proud of him, even though he was mock by some of our relatives. Coz you can’t see him joining us in preparing the house for family gathering. My Nanay wouldn’t mind him not helping us for she is too happy to see my brother in the church doing what’s right.
He is not like any other boys who engage in fistfights and getting into trouble… Will he got into trouble once but it’s not his fault anyways. He was bitten by a dog when he went out one late evening to watch TV at our Neighbor. (We don’t have TV then, we can’t afford one).
I could still recall, he was so scared then coz the dog bite was really huge on his little legs… I even had the scariest thought that he would die after that incident. (chuckle). But thanks God we were able to bring him to a wack doctor who get rid off the rabies. It was such a memorable experience for him.
He grew up serving the Lord as an altar boy till he was in High School. Of course he had some barkadas…and most of them are really funny. Then I discovered he could pass as a comedy actor…my little brother had a funny side.
He has a good sense of humor. He would always make me laugh, well not only me but most of all, girls who had fallen on his charm.
Yes, the not so pretty boy had grown up to be an attractive man. We had a joke then that if he don’t have money he would just go to his Sugar Mommies… He is also attractive to the third sex… that those Gays who later learn that He is my brother would soon be nice to me…coz they like my brother.
My cousins and nieces adore him coz he is so sweet and funny at the same time. Little children would be enamored of him on the way he tickles them and make fun of them every time we are having a get-together.
Sunday, is always a Mama’s boy, he is so attached with my mother. He misses my mom when he got a job in Cebu.
He misses home so much, and maybe that’s the reason why he chose to get a job in one of the company in our town.
He got a girlfriend now…and she’s nice. In fact my brother is lucky to have her. She helped her in his studies and all.
Back then he had a few relationship, but it didn’t work out like what he have now.
He is 24 now, working as a sales representative in an appliance center in our town. His wage is not enough actually but he is happy to be there.
I’m glad that his there, for I’m sure my family would be in good hands with him around.
His only vice is drinking a little and talking on the phone with his girlfriend.
My brother is not my punching bag anymore. The lanky boy in my childhood had grown into a man enough to be a hugging bear to me. He is always fond of hugging us, kissing us when he felt us. He is not afraid to show his adoration to us his sisters. Not like any other guy who is scared to utter the word “I love you.”
My Sunday is always saying I love you, after a phone call, when I go back to Manila…and when situations need those words to be said.
That’s my brother bear SUNDAY.
Next…
(Sigh)
The MINI ME. My sister Mizziel.
Yes, the little Jinny, according to my friends.
We are so much alike in so many ways. She looks like me, act like me, and sometimes talks like me.
You think I like it…. NO.
I hate her beyond words.
You can’t put us to sleep without fighting. A day won’t end without you seeing us fighting and arguing about any thing above the earth.
She annoys me in so many ways…her action, the way she talks, the way she put herself as the center of attention every time we have family gatherings.
As a child, Mizziel is weak. Literally. She falls down every time she tries to take a step when she was a toddler.
My mother tried to abort her when she was still a fetus, for she likes to have two kids meaning my Brother and I are enough for her. Well that explains it all.
She’s sickly yet she’s so strong, well, that what I think. For she won’t mind her being so weak as long as she can play and do whatever she want to do.
She’s talented, she can sing mind you.
Although she’s not brainy but she’s street smart and madiskarte.
I could still remember when she was 5. She joined a beauty contest. She is so confident in every sense of the word. She wouldn’t let us teach her what to do coz she knew what she’s doing. She knew how to walk in the runway at that age. She wouldn’t let us tell her what to say for she knew exactly what words to say. In short, she don’t need our help.
Yes, she’s stubborn.
Then the pageant day came. In fairness to her she did well. For me she could have won the best in talent award for she got the talent anyway. She sang Donna Cruz’ rain in perfect notes.
Question and answer portion came: HI MIZZIEL, HOW ARE YOU TONIGHT? Without any apprehensions, oozing with confidence, my little sister answered… “ARE YOU!” and then smiled.
From then on, she was called ARE YOU! Because of that historical answer. LOL.
She never looked at it as an embarrassing moment of her life. But it was a challenge for her.
Do you know why I hate her?
Because she always follow whatever I do.
She had a diary.
She love to read… just like me… in fact she loves it when I sent her my old reader’s digest copies.
She would always join every curricular activity she could join in high school.
Our penmanship is quite similar.
She was an honor student in High School…while I am not.
She was an officer in CAT and had a higher position than me, I was just a PLATOON LEADER while she’s a BATALLION LEADER. Beat that.
On her first day in college, old teacher and friends called her JIN thinking she was me.
Yes, that’s how strong our resemblance is.
She sang in the acquaintance party representing the whole Region 8 students enrolled that year. (I just had my share of the limelight few months after the school opens; I joined the theater group in our school). Kalokah divah.
She joined the school choir, and had the chance to do the workshop alongside the Philippine Madrigal Singers… isn’t that amazing… She beats me on that.
Ito pa… She took up Bachelor of Science in Food Technology while I took up Bachelor of Science in Development Communication major in Community Broadcasting.
Back then, DevCom’s and Food Tech’s are always in competition…coz both are really difficult courses…
But my God, I didn’t take that course coz I hate numbers…and my sister was courageous enough to take it.
I had just an internship in college coz I hate to write a book/thesis. You have a choice to have a thesis or go on internship/field practice. Every course in our university are given that choice.
Of course, I took the easier part.
While my little sister is again doing what she’s best at, she had a thesis before graduation.
Hehhe… Funny.
So you know now how much I hate her???
Back in High School I had the opportunity to join some beauty pageant. I joined twice, in our school, Ms. Campus Girls…I just garnered the Ms. Congeniality award and landed on the 5th place.
I also joined the Ms. Teen Baybay. Well, it only shows I’m not good in this.
My little sister joined the first ever Mutya ng Baybay.
She didn’t make it to the top5, but she got two major awards. Ms. Friendship and Ms. Congeniality.
Well for me twas enough. Coz even though she didn’t make it to the top5, she managed to get a higher monetary award compared to the fourth runner up.
But still…she beat me on that. Her first pageant and she got two awards…
Argh…. (she got good feedback though).
I got my first job few months after graduation…wanna know ho my little sister beat me on this aspect?
Well, in just the same span of time she got her first job.
You think it’s ordinary ??! no…
She got her first job in Brunei. Abroad mga amiga! And she’s a supervisor in Brunei Meat Corporation.
Wah….
Beat that!
Yeah she’s amazing.
She’s trying to outbeat me in any thing on this earth.
Well, I have to admit…I’m proud of her…
Maybe the reason why my blood boils whenever I could see her, it’s because I can see more of myself in her. My flaws, insecurities, my faults in a bigger picture.
She’s like a mirror to me…maybe that’s how other people perceived me without me noticing it.
We are alike in so many ways but I have to admit…she did a much better act in this eternal play called life.
Whether I like it or not… I have to admit…I do miss her a lot… …and yes I do love her…in every sense of the word….
Mirasol – sunflower…
My youngest sister.
Among the three of us…she’s likely to be the most secretive and different.
Though she’s like that… unlike Mizziel we do agree a lot on so many things. Even though she’s too young but we have the same likes and dislikes.
Among all others, Mia is the strongest and ang pinakamaldita.
She was nicknamed Mia because she’s my tatay’s Favorite. He was infact the one who gave her name.
She’s a tomboy when she was young. The kind who would go home with a scrape on her knees, her dress with a tear and act like she’s one of the boys.
She would like to be a police then.
If Mizziel is oozing with confidence, Mia is the opposite.
She’s shy. But she’s got more talent than any of us. She sings really well but she’s afraid to show it.
In high school she was in the honor lists, which made us proud coz she is really the aloof type.
She loves to spend time with her friends, which is awkward coz her classmates looked so tiny with her around…not that she’s the bulgy type, but she’s tall and lanky.
Really tall for her age.
Most of the time she stoops coz she’s the tallest among her peers and she really stands – out.
Mia grew up with the looks that could pass as a runway model.
She took Animal Science in college, and has some changes in her interests.
Instead of fighting bandits on the streets, she fought cows and cattle in the field. She’s suddenly interested in Rodeo.
One time she went home with a swollen face. She was kicked by a horse right on her face. Funny. Really. But it’s a mark that she’s tough.
My tatay never made it to watch in any of my performance back in college. But he really made it sure that he could watch Mia strangle a cow in our school during the local Rodeo.
And I could say that he is really proud of her.
Mia, is the most challenged among all of us. She got pregnant at 19. She bore a child without a husband. And was the center of intrigues and mockery among relatives and acquiantances. My nanay was so disappointed with her.
But, I never ever judged her. Upon hearing it i never got angry and disgusted with her. I understood her right away and accepted the fate she got. Not that I am agreeable on what she came through...but I can't do anything about it.
I supported her all the way till she gave birth to our Little Angel... Zain Leona.
Mia was forced to act as an adult when Eona came to our life. She tried everything to be serious in her studies and do everything for her to be a good mother to Eona.
Our baby sister has turned into a mother in such an early age.
I am so proud of her, for she didn't think of aborting Eona even though she was so confused of her situation back then. And most of all, she never made a big mistake in marrying the man who failed to show up and be a father to our little angel. She know that the man whom sh trusted once was irresponsible and afraid of commitments.
Mia is one hell of a strong woman...even though she's our youngest yet she managed to show us...the way to handle obstacles in our lives...

Music of Ms. Agot Isidro
There's nothing to explain... I just love her songs...
Nothing more...nothing less...
Moon River and Me
Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.
I am compiling some of the versions of Moon River.
napakinggan ko kasi ung version ni Sir Vince De Jesus... ang ganda...kaya na inspire akong i compile sya...
and yes its my favorite... u ask all those people who have seen my CP's playlist andun sya... :))
ang ganda kasi nang SONG...

"Nights in Rodanthe"

achingly beautiful...
that's my verdict after watching our much awaited movie, "Nights in Rodanthe".
My tita and i had been waiting for it to be shown locally for a month now. We've both read the book and cried over it.
The movie had a different treatment from the book which always happen. I know the ending already but still i can't hold on to the tears to kept falling.
The ending is heartbreaking and yet you can still say that it's beautiful.
It gives me hope that love works even though time and distance separates you and your lover.
"I want you to know that there's a kind of love that makes you feel that anything's possible."
Until now... ang tagal kong maka get over.
sakit jud ni sa iro... :))

schizo and "nights in rodanthe"

I received a text from ms. Julia that Schizo had a good review from Ms. Baby Gil of Philippine Star.
Then I texted Javy our messenger and requested him to buy me a copy of today's spreads.
And i was so glad to have it.
Twud be added to my collection of clippings about La Eula.
It is indeed an amazing review about Ms. Eula Valdes' album, Schizo.
I've listened to it the nth time and i never get tired of listening to it. My personal favorites are "Huwag mo nang Simulan, Who can stop the rain?, Di Na Muli, Niebe, Ulan at Bahaghari, and Rich."
I just hope that this album won't be the first and the last of Ms. Eula. For she's a great singer and she deserves to have millions of album to showcase her talent in singing.
For those who haven't purchased the album...go get your copies of Schizo guys... it's worth every cent of your peso..
:))

WOHHHH!!! i would finally be able to see the movie that i've been waiting for such a long time. Yes, today is the grand opening of "nights in rodanthe".
I would be meeting my friend Jessa and my tita at Shang Cineplex to watch this movie on the big screen... we could have watched it at Glorietta but my Dearest Aunt... insisted in viewing it at Shang for they've got the biggest screen as wat she said...
I can't say no...
So today, i'll be putting aside the 2nd book of the twilight saga "New Moon", to give way to Rodanthe...

what tarit card am i?
You are The Star
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised
The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

la Eula

'La Lola' is just around the corner, and the people behind the program gives the press one night that will definitely be hard to forget: a night of magic, a night of romance—and a night of non-stop one-liners from Direk Dominic Zapata. Beginning October 13, La Lola will begin airing part of GMA Telebabad, replacing the laughter-filled Ako si Kim Samsoon. But fans of light programming should not fret as La Lola is already proving to be a worthy replacement—if just for its director's non-stop funny asides.
"Hindi po totoo 'yung rumor na may pinapauso kaming bago: Rhianovela? Wala pong ganoon," Zapata delivers with a straight face. The director is making a play at the issues already surrounding the show before it even begins. But what follows is no joke.
"This is an Argentinian soap," the director says of La Lola. And through a presentation, the people behind the program have shown just how popular that series has gotten—earning remakes throughout the world, including the US, Vietnam and parts of Europe. Direk Dom continues, "Now that we're going global, tama lang na gawin natin 'to—para hindi naman tayo nahuhuli sa daigdig ng show business."
La Lola is the story of a playboy business magnate who scorned the wrong woman—and gets turned into a woman for his mistakes. And starring as the playboy is Wendell Ramos, before he gets turned into a woman: Rhian Ramos.
"Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa GMA," Rhian begins, saying that La Lola is her biggest project so far. "Sobrang excited ako para gawin 'to, ginagawa ko talaga 'yung best ko at binubuhos ko lahat ng energy ko, buong puso ko, sa project na 'to.
"So thank you Ma'am Wilma [Galvante], Ma'am Lilybeth [Rasonable], Miss Cheryl [Ching-Sy]—you take such good care of me. Maraming-maraming salamat po sa mga directors namin. And si Miss Edlyn [Tallada-Abuel], napakabait niya sa aming lahat. Mommy, ate, she’'s whatever you need her to be."
According to Direk Dom, the cast of La Lola is the biggest high-caliber powerhouse cast he has handled so far. And with Eddie Garcia, Jackie Lou Blanco, Eula Valdez, Marvin Agustin, Angelika dela Cruz, Keempee de Leon, Gladys Reyes and so on—well, you can see he's not joking.
But it seems someone else is: "La Eula po ito," Eula says on the mic, eliciting laughs from the press people in attendance. The veteran actress last seen in Carlo J. Caparas' Kamandag says she's thankful to be part of La Lola. "Excited na po akong mag-start ng taping."
Another cast member making the press laugh is Keempee, who starts with the usual "I'm so proud to be one of them." He says that the whole cast, the whole crew is really working hard to give everything they’ve got to the program—"talagang hanggang umaga." That's before he slips into character, and finishes with a very queer delivery of: "Kaya please ha? Okay, watch."
And to get back at Direk Dom for putting them on the spot, Jay R teases, "We would like to thank Direk Dominic for putting us on the spot, and making me speak—but I also wanna say na: dapat siguro kanta na lang ako."
The cast is already ready to make audiences laugh—and the wait is almost over. La Lola begins on October 13, after Mars Ravelo's Dyesebel. Talk about the show with other Kapuso fans at the iGMA Forums!
La Lola also stars JC de Vera, Yul Servo, Lovi Poe, Marky Cielo, Patricia Ismael, Robert Villar, Isabel Granada, and in very special roles, Jewel Mische and Miss Iza Calzado.

OCTOBERmania... Rain and Laughter...
How I started October ?? it was Fun and Bizarre! Fantastic...
Truly, amazing...
It's holiday for it's the end of Ramadan. So, no office, no paper works and i need not to get up early to prepare for work.
But my body clock is still working in spite of me sleeping late the night before. I went out of bed at exactly 8:00. I had a sleep over at my Tita's place pala...
When I went to the kitchen, wow, breakfast is ready. Just like at home... my favorite... a cup of coffee, bread and scrambled egg...(but this time...it's too salty for my taste...wohhhh tita had put too much salt on it...bleh...Peace Tita :P)
But still i enjoyed it.
It started raining...wohhhh what a good start.
Tita's place is in the second floor...and they're bathroom/toilet is in the ground floor...you've got to pass to some place that is dark and somewhat creepy.. before you could pee...
Then when you feel that your bladder is tightening and about to burst...you don't have any choice but to grab an empty plastic can of STICK-o and do your thing! it might be gross to some but that's the neanderthal people do before... bwahahahha...and funny, we are not in the province mind you... we are in the middle of EDSA....(my tita's place is near Heritage and MOA)
And since it will take time for us to go downstairs...Nag trip kami ni tita...
We had our morning shower at their roof (nah not rooftop) literally... doble ang shower...coz its raining so hard...
Don't wori guys, we had our clothes on...we did not created a material that could pass as a scandal for XTUBE... LOL! and yet we had a share of audience... LOL nope they didn't see us...we're covered naman... :)
Twas fun really...
Then we went to SM Mall of Asia, in spite of the heavy rain... MOA is still full of people...shopping, gallivanting and just having fun...
went to Top Shop, bought undies as a gift to my officemate... Had a second thought whether she'll like this or not.. argh! nevermind... its da tot dat counts naman di vah...
Tita had some paper works to finish so off we go to her office... I was trying to focus and get into the emotions of one of my fave Love Story, "Bridges of Madison County". But still I can't concentrate, I can't understand...i wasn't engaged with what i'm watching. My thoughts were flying to so many things apart from the Boob Tube I'm facing... Hay! I am just Bored...
I was biting my nails...when EulAddicts bunso Shle, texted me... "Ate OL si Idol?" Wohhh... wait...i am not connected to the net...how can i be with them?! then i told her, just send my regards to her...can't make it...
But I was restless... ohhhhhhhh... this can't be happening...of all days...i'm out of the circulation... ARGH!
then another text came... confirming the action that had been going on in Multiply...
I asked permission from Tita and went out to the pouring rain...forgetting my Umbrella Ah@ sttoooofffffid!!!
Then i ran to the nearest internet cafe... shocks... it's CLOSE (of all days, i thought they're open 24 hours, as their sign board said) ... argh...how would i do this...
then i asked if there's any net cafe nearby... then the pips they're directed me to a place several meters away from where im standing...
Should i go or not... arghhhhhhhhhhhhh
then without second thought I ran... (its now or never)
then there the most memorable of my being a EULAddict began...
we chatted: Shle, Jessa, Karen and of Course... the pusher... hahahah J@moRv@L...
hay...we had so much fun...that its worth the panic, the tension and a bit of muscle flexing ...
I just... can't believe we chatted with our Ultimate Goddess...
it was such a good start for this month...
i just can't believe it until now... parang Dream lang sya... sa totoo lang...
Chatting with her is so amazingly fun coz she's so cool and koolit at the same time...
One of a kind indeed...
i forgot that i was wet and water is dripping from my hair to my back that i forgot "bawal akong magpapaulan, i have asthma mind you..." Mahina ang immune system ko...
Kaya... kinabukasan...di me nakapasok coz i got a FLU....
Hahahah... what a good start of a good month indeed...but i never regret it...its worth a lifetime ... i had some souvenirs of our convo printed.
It would be added to my EULA treasure chest... an additional item to my EULA VALDES guest room, that i'm planning to have when I would have my own house... (yan kong yayaman ako... LOL)
I am still recovering from the FLU...but I'm okay...i KNow I am... I had started October with a blast...
Hope and pray it would end well too...

the first time i saw EULA VALDES

I’m wide awake at 12:12 AM… talking with my husband on my mobile and typing on my boss’ laptop… I just can’t find sleep after what happened today.
This day would surely be a moment that I would surely treasure through eternity.
I would share this wonderful phase of my life to all of those who shared the passion and admiration towards this amazing woman, especially to Karen Castro, my good friend who made my meeting with OUR ULTIMATE IDOL MS. EULA VALDEZ possible.
I thought that this day would just be like any other weekend that I had. Boring and tiring.
Karen sent a YM telling me that Ms. Eula will be in Makati Shangrila for the Amorsolo Foundation function. I was excited yet sad that this might be another wasted opportunity of seeing Ms. Eula in person. I told Karen that I would go there but I can’t promise that I could have the courage to approach her and introduce myself for I would usually had a hard time doing that.
So, I just finished my work and headed to Glorietta to meet my Tita Gingging whom I haven’t seen for one month.
We were just in Glorietta for a few minutes when I told her to go to Makati Shangrila with me to see Eula… knowing my Tita to be very supportive of my dreams and kachurvahan in life she accompanied me to Shangrila without any hesitation.
When we reached the hotel…I had the second thought in proceeding to the venuewhere she will be performing for it is really a very formal event. All those glitz and glamour part of a high society extravaganza were evident for the media men are around and people in nice dresses are hovering around the area.
After staying at the lobby for a few minutes losing my hope of seeing Ms. Eula…I told my Tita that maybe it is about time that we should go back to Glorietta. Bored and somewhat tired of staying in that lounge my tita agreed right away that we should go.
My tita suggested that we would pass through the back door of Makati Shang…without asking any question I simply followed. I was sad coz all my excitement and my effort in going there would end up to nothing.
When we turned to that corner next to the Shang’s exit, I saw Isay Alvarez dressing up… I told myself, “Buti na lang nakinig ako sa Tita ko na dito dumaan…” coz I had the strongest intuition that I could see Eula there… Isay was not the only celebrity who were there in that area, Ricky Davao, Leo Martinez, are just some of the performers that I saw in that room.
I told my tita, “Tita feeling ko andito si Eula…” then my tita suggested that maybe we should wait for a few minutes before we go. Promise, I was shaking…nangangatog na ako.
In just a fleeting moment I turned to my left and saw a familiar figure dressed in Baro’t Saya. Akala ko nakakita ako nang apparition… then I mumbled…tita OMG! Si Eula yan.
Tita was also starstrucked upon seeing her… She told me to approach her…but di ko nagawa…. Grabe…. Sobrang nanginginig ako na di ko malaman…
Hanggang pumasok na lang sya sa dressing room, I was glued to that space I was standing unable to move and utter a word.
My tita was furious…”Bakit di ka lumapit…siraulo ka talaga.”
Then I told her, Tita that was enough…tama nang nakita ko sya in person…at nalamang totoo pala sya and not just a fragment of my imagination. Knowing that the person that I truly admire is not just a part of the pixel in that television tube.
Pero knowing my tita who wouldn’t settle for less… Di daw kami aalis hangga't di ko nilapitan si Eula… I insisted na uuwi na kami. I had my moment already and for me that’s enough. But my tita won…
We waited until she would go out of that room again… and then it happened. Lumabas uli si Ms. Eula at nag rest room. Then I told Tita… promise Tita come what may lalapitan ko na sya…pagbalik nya sa room.
Trembling and apprehensive…kasi napaka nega kong tao… im sweating… and I really felt so cold….
Then she came out, I was taking baby steps towards her…and said in a very low voice… “Hi Ms. Eula”…
Hindi ata lumabas sa bibig ko ang mga words na un…my Tita did the magic. With a very confident voice she said “ Hello po Ms. Eula”,… lumingon ako sa Tita ko… I was supposed to do that. Then we approached her… sabi ko…”Hi ms. Eula ako po si Jin.
Sabi kasi ni Karen andito ka… kaya dumaan lang ako para mag say Hi.”
Then… just like a dream coming true… sabi nya… “ah oo ikaw si JinnyJohn (my multiply ID where we met the first time, my online identity which she knew)… kumusta…bakit di ka naka red lipstick ngaun…??”
It went smoothly… ang saya nyang kausap..then she mentioned “meron pa ung iba…sina Jessa and Crishelle… atbp.” (sori eulanians un lang natandaan ko) sabi ko ay opo si Shle…
My tita interrupted “O sige na magpa picture kana…” then sabi nya… “oo nga,eto naman oh ha nag-asawa ka lang ganyan ka na”…
Then we took souvenir picture… syempre…nagpa picture then tita ko…
I was really trembling…when I took that shot…tawa nang tawa si idol dahil nanginginig ako.
Then… she asked kong saan daw ang punta namin…sabi ko dito lang po kasi taga Makati naman po kami…
Then I gave her my card, para kong gusto nyang pumunta sa resort where I worked she can contact me.
At she kissed me (beso bah, oh wag exage…toh naman oh…pinasosyal ko lang na kissed, nang iinggit bah… LOL)
As requested by my dear friend, I told her ms. Eula sabi po pala ni Karen hi daw…then she replied"Eto nga katext ko…sige itetext ko sya…"
I thanked her…at umalis na kami…
That brief moment was so fleeting and yet it marked in my heart…
It was my dream to see her in person…I had a joke pa nga… na Makita ko lang sya puede na akong mamatay…
Meeting her was truly a dream come true… one of my bucket list had a check on it.
I can’t ask for more…I was truly blessed…
I realize that when you dream big you will really have it, Huge and unexpected. I just dreamt back then of seeing her in person, kahit malayo ok na sa akin.
But the thought that she knew and remembered me in spite of all the people she met in her life…is so remarkable.
I am a dreamer… I dream big…I write it down on my journal…
What happened today is a sign that all I’ve written there is not just a worthless scribbling but it could come true. That my Bucket List could come true… I had two checks in it… Marrying the man I truly love and meeting my Ultimate Idol… ms. Eula.
Dream do come true… and I want to borrow Bugoy’s (PDA season 2 second placer) line … mangarap tayo, kahit simpleng tao puedeng mangarap.
I encourage you to dream…and make it an inspiration to strive for the best.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to KAREN CASTRO. I just met her online 2 years before. Nung una ko syang nakilala, ang saya saya ko kasi may kapartner ako sa paghahanga kay ms. Eula. She opened up so many doors to me. And not only that she is a shoulder to lean on…grabe maski di pa kami nagkikita…may na iishare na ako sa kanyang problema…which she readily listened to and had given me some beautiful insights.
Dahil sa kanya…natupad ang pangarap ko. As what I’ve always told you Karen…you’re time will come and it would come in a big package, million times better than what we had experience. Kasi ang bait mo…you shared your blessing… (naiiyak ako…promise). Daghang Salamat Karen!
To all the EULANIANS…for sharing the passion…
Shle, magkikita din kau ni Idol…and I can’t wait it to happen. Princess, Ate Marby, Meng, Jessa, Phey…at sa lahat lahat…
To my Tita…I may not have done it without you. Salamat for always being there for me… for sharing my dreams at for taking courage in getting near her… grabe tita…you were my strength…
To Ms. EULA… salamat… I had my Charice Pempengco moment with you… I can’t thank you enough for being so warm and pleasant on our meeting. Sorry po at nanginig ako at nauutal…di lang po ako makapaniwala… you are an inspiration to me. Dahil sayo patuloy akong mangarap… you open up a door in my heart for me to keep dreaming and fulfilling it. you will always be a special part of me…(kakanta ba)… love you po talaga…
I could die na po…pero kawawa naman asawa ko, siguro ask ko lang si Lord nang extension…joke lang sinabi ko…
And above all I thank GOD for blessing me with people who are beautiful inside out… who possess a good heart and who are willing to share their life to others. Who willingly inspire and make our dreams come true… thanks for sending angels in our midst…
To God be the glory…
Eula promise…totoong tao po sya…indi sya fragment nang iyong imagination…she’s real…and I’ve met her…
Try nyo… di ba ma addict mo… LOL!!!!

down through memory lane

How Time Flies!!!
This is me and my Manang Minda (Luvizminda Ocampo). She is the daughter of my Ninang who took good care of me when i was young.
Yes I was that baby she's holding when she was still a teenager. And after 25 years we've got our photo together... Funny she can't carry me anymore...
I just love her so much, she's a real ate to me even though we're not related by blood...
It's always nice to bring back memories of a happy childhood...
Seperated at Birth
i was scanning through my friendster, then i bump into the profile of my cousin in Davao. we haven't met eversince...
Lukso nang dugo siguro but i was really enjoying in what i saw...
till i saw this one...it sent chills to my nerves.. :)
this kid is my uncle Dongdong's son...and we haven't met as well...

Nights in Rodanthe~ am crazy again...
im a sucker with Love Stories... all kinds of it...
and now im hooked with another of Nicholas Sparks' masterpiece...
Nights in Rodanthe

the movie is coming up later this September...but i wanna read first the book before watching the movie.
I always love details... i've watched all the movies that Mr. Sparks had written... (A walk to Remember and The Notebook) well...until now...i've never dared to finish Message in a Bottle coz i found it so heartbreaking and... i dunno y...
I just can't take watching a movie about losing someone u love so dearly.
There's always a part of me that seems to be in every character of Nicholas Sparks' books...or it is just the drama queen in me...
I'm halfway through the book... but i just can't put it down...well... again i've broken my own record the last time...finishing a thick novel in no less than 24 hours...well... maybe i could finish this in just as short as 12 hours???...beat that.. hahaha...
And here's another one... I can't wait to see the movie... from the thriller (http://nightsinrodanthe.warnerbros.com/)itself... it seems lovable and amazing...
I can't wait for September 26 to set my feet on the theaters...

8 days to go..........

Kinsella-holic
September 3, 2008- i was absent from work due to some Infection.... and its pissing me off...and most of all i was bored...
Then I saw a book on my Housemates bed... Nice color... It's yellow...and mind you I'm so fond of that hue these days...
So i Picked it up and started reading... and i couldn't put it down...
That's the start of my Kinsella Addiction... I know its too late to start But I love her books... she's cool and everybody could relate what she wrote... and its amazing... coz i'm the type who would be glued to fantasy and adventure books and Coelho's books difinitely... but gosh I love the books...
I finished "Undomestic Goddies" in a span of two days ...(non stop reading mind you!)

it's obvious i can't put it down...
I don't feel like going out this weekend and event though my finances are killing me... I just can't let the opportunity of having her first book (i guess)...when i went to Fullybooked/Bibliarch at Waltermart yesterday...
Yes... i bought her book... "Confessions of a Shopaholic".

And again im hooked...
can't wait to have my next Sophie Kinsella book... Wanna read all of them...
Yikes im addicted.. :)

Who still wants this bill?
Published by Paulo Coelho on August 29, 2008 in Stories.
By Paulo Coelho
Cassan Said Amer tells a story about a lecturer who began a seminar holding up a 20 dollar bill, and asking:
- Who wants this 20 dollar bill?
Several hands went up, but the lecturer said:
- Before handing it over, there’s something I must do.
He furiously crushed it, and asked again:
- Who still wants this bill?
The hands continued raised.
- And what if I do this?
He threw it against the wall, letting it fall to the floor, kicked it, stamped in it and again held up the bill - all dirty and crumpled. He repeated the question, and the hands continued to be held high.
- You mustn’t ever forget this scene - said the lecturer. - No matter what I do with this money, it’ll still be a 20 dollar bill. Many times in our lives, we are crushed, stamped on, kicked, maltreated, offended; however, in spite of this, we are still worth the same.
I made it sure that I read all his books and posts on his blogs and journals.
This one is really nice and very timely... for me.
I wanna share it with you friends... hope you love it.

Life is Beautiful.... Give out a Smile Today!
another email worth sharing....
this is great...
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.... don't waste it!!!
Appreciate it! :)

42 Tips for A Better Life
==========================
1. When you wake up in the morning, always start your day
with a prayer/vision.
2. And then, complete the following statement,
My purpose is to__________ today.
3. Take a 10 to 30-minute walk every day. And while you walk,
smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
4. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock
if you have to.
5. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less
food that is manufactured in plants.
6. Drink plenty of water and fresh juices. Eat blueberries,
salad, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds, etc.
7. Make at least three people smile each day.
8. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires,
issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot
control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present.
9. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner
like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone, so give the
best of your kindness.
11. Take yourself seriously.
12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what
their journey is all about. Don't compare your partner with
others either.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
So, be happy.
16. Remember that great love and great achievements involve
great risk.
17. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for
others; Responsibility for all your actions.
18. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps
to correct it.
19. Frame every so-called disaster with these words:
In five years, will it matter?
Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.
Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and
fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will
last a lifetime.
20. Forgive everyone for everything.
21. Read more books and watch less TV than you did last year.
22. What other people think of you is none of your business.
23. God has everything you'll every need in life so hook up
with Him.
24. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
25. In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current
situation; don't bring up the past.
26. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
27. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your
family and friends will. Stay in touch.
28. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
29. Keep believing that the best is yet to come.
30. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
31. Each day give something good to others.
32. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
33. Sleep for 7 hours every day or whatever your body needs.
34. Don't trust someone who doesn't close their eyes when you
kiss them.
35. Remember that the best relationship is one where your love
for each other is greater than your need for each other.
36. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a
stroke of luck.
37. Do the right thing!

statements:
I am thankful for__________
Today I accomplished_________
39. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
40. Trust in God, but lock your car.

but heaven.
